Melissa's Backdrop What is this?
Why?
About a year ago, I went through a dry songwriting spell. I couldn't write a single song for about 6 months and I thought the last one I had written was my last for good.
Then I saw the film "Once," fell in love with the simplicity of this song (and also resonated with the words within the context of the story) and was inspired to write again. Haven't stopped since;)

Why or why not?
Yes, because it's big enough and it revolves around the sun.
No, so I can one day say to my grandkids "When I was your age, Pluto was a planet."
No, so I can one day say to my grandkids "When I was your age, Pluto was a planet."
Why?
Because Jeanne invented it. And it tastes phenomenal.
Why?
Soaring gas prices, living on the Far East side of Orlando and it takes me a half hour drive to get anywhere, and hellooooo, being able to instantly travel anywhere in the WORLD? What's not to love?:)

I'm liking the whole daily update thing you've got going on, Mel!
I have a lineup of songs just waiting to be recorded, but for some reason I'm being anal and wanting to make the recordings perfect and add all kinds of touches...
But I'd expect to see "Pagodas" (the song inspired by your story) up on Backlight by Sunday.

I'm not saying that 'your face' isn't funny. It's frickin hilarious. Just saying I keep expecting more. Come on Reyes.
And just to establish the things that are always funny are:
Your face is...
Your mom...
That's what she said.
And you should meet my mom. She's awesome.

Dear Mel,
"Your face" retort has been used too much. You need to find another one. You are smart and creative. I know you can come up with something else.
Love,
Alecia

Mel, Jeanne doesn't want to be a vampire, she just wants to fall in love with one.
